In Part Six, episode six of the Espresso Webinar Series, our Director of EMEA Marketing, Amy Kelly, welcomed Alice Hayes, UX Research Manager at NatWest Group.
In this webinar, we discuss the burnout situation across the research community, how to identify it in your team to know when to offer support, and how to respond to the business needs when outputs remain a high priority.
Alice’s background is in Psychology, and in the early years of her career, she was a researcher at The Science Museum where she collected data for an eye-tracking study believed to be the largest in Europe. She has co-authored multiple pieces of research on eye-tracking and more recently common problems with usability testing.
In 2015 she joined the John Lewis Partnership, where she racked up thousands of hours with customers, to build a picture of how customers shop in-store and online. Alice was one of the founding members of the UX Research Lab at John Lewis, where she was instrumental in the adoption of user-centred practices by management and product teams. Alongside her research commitments, Alice created and delivered a course on UX Research for juniors on her team.
Fast forward to today where Alice currently leads the UX Research team at NatWest Group, who supports the group’s various brands such as RBS, NatWest Markets and Coutts. She is responsible for working on the research strategy and supporting the personal and professional development of her team. Alice is incredibly passionate about her colleagues' wellbeing and finding opportunities to enhance everyone’s time at work.
